The trip is extended to continue on Route 219, which leads to the Irazu Volcano through a rural landscape of great attraction for its scenic beauty.
The Irazu has 3,432 meters high and is the highest point of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range rises on a base of volcanic rocks of the Tertiary period.
Today the volcano shows a slight emission of gases and steam, is comprised of 5 craters of which are: Diego de la Hague (with an approximate depth of 100 meters and a diameter of 869 meters) and current ( depth of 300 meters and a diameter of about 1,050 meters).

Arriving in Turrialba, you may find a town of irregular topography, large and small valleys, covered largely by cane fields and coffee plantations. All the central region of the canton is properly cultivated. There mills for the manufacture of sugar and coffee processing.
A one kilometer Turrialba Park Recreation Park is La Dominica, which has two eucalypt woodlands and pools suitable for swimming from the park one can see the mountains and the Turrialba Volcano. A 19 kilometers from Cologne via Guayabo Turrialba National Park is located Guayabo.
This park is testimony to the aboriginal presence in the region for having found valuable pieces and long working structures in stone, metal and ceramics.
The main attractions of this area are the landscape, the Costa Rican countryside, cultural attractions, natural sites of the valleys and coffee plantations, sugar cane, maize, tubers, peach, macadamia, fruit trees and livestock, beekeeping and fish farming.
Turrialba back to take the road to Juan Vinas which is situated in a kind of mountain valley of great beauty, where you can see lush green vegetation all year round.
The cane fields are everywhere.
A few kilometers from Juan Viñas Cervantes scenic spot is predominantly agriculture and livestock, resulting in many potatoes, vegetables and milk in this area dominated by evergreen. Cervantes is located in the Inn of the moon where you can enjoy the great variety of dishes, and various ancient artifacts that highlight the Costa Rican lifestyle.
The road leads to the canton of Paraiso, which is one of the most beautiful counties, topographically the country.
Paraiso is located in the Park of the expression, where you can visit the Lagoon of Doña Anacleta, naturally. This park is reforested tree of cypress, eucalyptus, apple and others. It is also highly frequented by several species of birds.
Moving on to San Jose are located Lankester Gardens, which are dedicated to the conservation of local flora and the preservation of a representative collection of American and world flora. The gardens feature more than 800 species of domestic and foreign orchids, lush forests, bromeliads, anthuriums and a large variety of ferns.
